Successful Conversion of Epson WF-7710 to Chipless
The Process
Hi, for those of you with Epson WF-7710, I'd like to report a successful conversion to chipless using a solution provided on a website.
Instructions
Step 4 - After a few minutes, the screen of the printer displayed finished and showed ROM version FA27HC, but several lights started flashing. I had to pull the electricity plug to shut it down and then restart it.
Downloaded the license.exe file from the website, pasted in the activation key sent via email, and followed the instructions to switch the printer off and on. After a few minutes, the printer started up without any messages about incompatible ink cartridges.
Conclusion
It was worth the ВЈ34 paid to get the printer back to working condition. I've disabled the upgrade reminders on the printer and my computers to avoid any future issues. I've also made a copy of my recovery code generated by the activation key for future use if needed.
